Volunteering at Chiba Islamic Cultural Center
CHIBA, 15 June - 15 volunteers from the Kantou region of Japan came together to carry out a volunteering activity at the Chiba Islamic Cultural Center (CICC) in Chiba. The day started with an opening speech from the founder of CICC, Mr. Kyoichiro Sugimoto. He welcomed the volunteers with a warm smile and expressed his gratitude for coming to the centre. It is said that it had been eight years since the place was discovered.
Next, workloads are divided between participants and cleaning commences at 3.00 p.m. with breaks for prayers and lunch—the differences from the before and after were immaculate and satisfied everyone’s heart.
The event ended with an ending speech from the Kantou Regional Leader, Muhammad Haziq and he expressed his satisfaction and gratitude towards everyone who had participated in the event. He was hoping that in the future there shall be more collaborations especially those that could connect the Islamic community here in Japan. Mr. Sugimoto also gave his thank you and lastly distributed the certificate to all the participants.
It is hoped that by collaborating more with other organisations especially those who are close to Malaysian community and Islamic community, we are able to bond new ties and strengthen old ones. Volunteering is also a great skill for us to be able to work together with many new people and gain new experiences.
