Razak was a student at Hiroshima Bunn University (now University of Hiroshima) when the devastating atomic bomb attack took place during World War 2 on Aug 6, 1945.

In 1976, the Malaysian Students Association Japan (MSAJ) was established with the primary aim of providing welfare assistance and support to Malaysian students studying in Japan. Recognizing the challenges and needs faced by Malaysian students living far from home, MSAJ has been instrumental in ensuring their well-being and fostering a sense of community among them.

The roots of the Malaysia-Japan education relationship can be traced back to the tumultuous years of World War II. During this period, a prominent figure in Malaysia, Razak, was studying at Hiroshima Bunn University, which is now known as the University of Hiroshima. The devastating atomic bomb attack on August 6, 1945, had a profound impact on Razak's life and marked a turning point in the Malaysia-Japan relations.
